Leather Western

Leather Western
I need advice on cleaning a western saddle?

So here's the deal, my aunt gave me his old chair etoday west so it could enter the west again, and what kind of dirty and just needs a little love. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for all oiled and other things? I'm more or less concerned about the seat is an old seat and the seat is a synthetic material and I think it takes a little love. I heard something about quitting the post in the sun for leather? Thanks!

Sitting in the sun dries the leather. It is the skin and need a good conditioner to keep healthy. Make sure the leather is not dry rot. So I suggest buying clean the skin / air conditioner. Be sure to read the> package if a saddle is light, then get one that does not change from black leather. Some do it .. saddle soap usually does not work that way. It is available in any supermarket or supply of horses. I use Lexol myself. Rub into the leather until it no longer absorbed. Rub it on the bottom too. Then clean the exterior. Let stand overnight. Conditioner get rid of dirt, soften old leather and oil back into the mood soft and flexible it needs to again. Clean any debris and polish skin with a soft brush. This Leather care. As for the seat, I bet it is suede. It is very likely to wake up. First try cleaning it with a little (goes out with water) with warm water and a soft brush, allow to dry completely, then good brush and see if it helps. Otherwise, it returns with a suede cleaner. brush lightly to restore softness. Edit: If this is an old chair, you can have leather ties that hold the parts of a whole, and fixing others. I recommend you buy new leather straps and replace all just to be safe. Good luck!
